About Me

My photo
Hi, My name is Gail Bohacek-Sheehan (Nightingale Cockers). In October of 1982 we bought our first Cocker Spaniel puppy from a person unknown to us at the time - Jane Benthein (Schatzie Acres Cockers), Manitowoc, WI. Jane and I became best of friends. It was the cutest black female puppy,"Daisy". Later Jane and I bought a black n white puppy bitch, "Katie", "Schatzie's n Bo's Katie Jane". She produced my first champion. 'Ch. Nosowea's n Bo's No Trial", "Toby". Toby's offspring are still in the ring with Joanne Thorp today, "Nosowea's" Cudahy, WI. Then I purchased a silver buff female who became "Ch. Tri-Pod's n Bo's Picture This","Lacey", from Deb Podratz "Tri-Pod Cockers", MN. She, Lacey, produced "Ch. Nightingale's Double Take", "Tiffany" and "Ch. Nightingale's Classic Image", "Jamie". From "Tiffany" we still have the lines 8 generations later being "Nightingale's Golden Isle Breezes" "Breezy" producing "Nightingale's Mercy Me" and "Nightingale's Southern Jezebel". One of our babies was returned to us last month. I am so sorry to say he had not been taken care of the way I had expected the young mother to take care of him...she wanted a Cocker puppy and I trusted her seeing her with her 3 children. He was in pretty rough shape, smelly ears and some sore spots on his underside. He had not been neutered as he was supposed to have been by now. Well, I have been working hard to get him back in tip top shape and it is showing. He was neutered last week and the 'hot' spots are healed. His ears and mattery eyes are much improved...the vet said it is probably allergies. I also changed his food! We are looking for a forever home for him. He is a very happy boy, a very well mannered boy and he is crate trained. He had a negative HW test last week and is on HW and FLEA preventive, he is current on his vaccinations! "Ziggy" was born Feb 13, 2012. 'Trigger' is his Daddy and 'Breezy' is his Mamma! If interested or if you have questions, please email me at gailyb51@comcast.net

Follow up on our Moonfyre's Betty Boop, after being in the ring just 3 weekends her wins included Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Variety in Sweepstakes at The Cocker Spaniel Club of Southeastern Florida on March 8th, 2013 at West Palm Beach, FL, a 1st Place on March 9th and 10th at West Palm Beach, FL. She then received 2 - 1st Place and a Reserve Winners at the Lakeland, FL weekend Feb 16th & 17th, 2013, 2 - 1st Place and 2 Reserve Winners at the Tallahassee, FL weekend Feb 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 2013. After much thought and knowing there weren't going to be any shows for her for awhile, we decided to pull her because she is a very lightly marked black and tan girl. Competition would be long and hard...

Time passes by...

It is time to update our blog...

'Jett' went to live with a wonderful gentleman and his wife in Ocala, FL in Oct of 2012. We get regular reports and pics of him! He is doing great!

'Charlotte' went to live with her older brother, Cody, in Jacksonville, FL a couple of weeks ago. Her new Mom is sending pics almost daily of the two kids curled up together on the couch. A match made in heaven for sure! It is what this is all about!

We also found a perfect home for 'Breezy' with a gal here in Brunswick who has a 12 year old Cocker boy who needed a friend. They had a few problems making the adjustment but all seems to be going good now! Breezy was used to sleeping in her crate/bed at night....

We now have 4 Cockers living with us - Angie, Haley, Trigger and Amelia.
3 weeks ago today we picked up Miss Betty Boop - breeder Chris Debowski (Moonfyre's Betty Boop by Ch. Toybox Hop, Skip n Jump x Moonfyre's Dark Desire) at the Savannah Airport. Her grandsire is our Chadwick - R.A's n Nightingale's Golden Isle Venture. We took Miss Betty to the Ocala Shows on Friday to meet up with Nancy Virden and Lindy Bennett (Toybox). Nancy will be showing her in her first shows at Lakeland, FL on Feb. 15, 16 17 & 18th!  Chris n I are hoping for a quick finish for her...she is a very nice little girl!

Then and now...

....the rest of my story goes like this!!

Next a black/tan puppy. He became "Ch. Northyork Doctor Who", "T.J." from Kim Wubbels, "Northyork", MN. My next puppy, a black male became "Ch. Hyline's Rompin Rebel", "Johnny". Out of a black girl of mine owned by Linda Romps, Gladstone, MI.

Then I got a red puppy bitch from Jane in, my next champion!  I picked her out at 3 days old, born in July of 1984, "Ch. Schatzie's Robyn Retticus", "Robyn". Then 2 years later I got my brown n tan baby girl from Jane, that I later co owned with Christina Debowski (Moonfyre Cockers), "Schatzie's Dutch Mocha" "Jenna", born in July of 1996, who produced "Schatzie's Sweet Murphy Brown" who produced "Ch. Schatzie's Answer to Spring" "Hannah" and "Schatzie's Winter Snow Storm" "Angie".

Then things were quiet for quite a few years...then in July of 2006 with Jane's passing I got 11 month old "Haley", "Schatzie's Silver Comet" and in August of 2009 "Angie", "Schatzie's Winter's Snow Storm" came to live with us, "Angie" was the last Cocker at Jane's.

In the beginning of 2009 I found a beautiful buff boy out of Kimber Lindemann's lines 'Romeacres' MI., "R.A.'S Nightingale's Golden Isle Venture" 1/2009, "Chadwick". We had him shown in many shows in the FL circuit but could not get anything but many reserves on him. He was a super mover and an all around super loving friendly boy. Very disappointed we were in only reserves...

"Angie" (almost 8 yrs old 12/2004) and "Haley" (7 years old 7/2005) are still here with us. "Angie" bred to Chris' "Namees Rambl-N Man" produced our "Jr International/National Ch. Nightingale's N Moonfyre's Only Option", "Trigger" 11/2009. A gorgeous typey black boy.
We also now have "Amelia" "Moonfyre n Nightingale's Island Girl" 7/2011, out of "Chadwick" n "Gabby" a  Namees girl of Chris'.

I am happy and excited with the 'kids' I have here...they are all a joy, each having a happy personality of their own.

Wow, it HAS been awhile since I have been here....alot has happened but yet alot is still the same. We still have one Solid Black Boy here at the age of 7 months, born Feb 13th, 2012. His name is "Jett". We have had him neutered and microchipped. He is current on vaccinations and has been getting HW preventive as well as Comfortis to prevent Fleas. He is a super loving guy. He loves his tennis balls. He brings them back to us to throw again and again and again. He loves to lay in my arms so I can rub his tummy. He is totatally crate trained and will wait for us to get up in the morning. Did I say he is a super good boy? He would like his very own family to keep hopping...

His Black/Tan sister "Mercedes" "Nightingale's Mercy Me" is living in NY with High Calling Cockers and his Black sister "Jazzy" "Nightingale's Southern Jezebel" is living in MI waiting to be shown.

We did find a super home for "Mikey" keeping "Lexi" company!

"Alison" has gone back to WI and as of this writing "'Charlotte" is still here jumping in Daddy's recliner every chance she gets.

It is time to update on the puppies. They are growing so fast and all developing their own little personalities. This may be one of the nicest litters we have produced - all so nicely put together. It has been very hard chosing who could go to homes who want to do more with them. 2 of the boys went to Atlanta to a young man and his 16 year old daughter. One of the boys is going to a young family next Friday. As of this writing there is still a solid black boy, a black/tan boy and a solid black girl and a small black/tan girl left to the right homes. I need to update the pics on here. I did just that yesterday on most of my ads and also on facebook. If you look on my facebook page, Gail Sheehan, you should find the pics. I also have two adults looking for homes, Charlotte and Mikey, see pics. They are spayed/neutered! Email for prices! Thank you!
