About Me

My photo
Hi, My name is Gail Bohacek-Sheehan (Nightingale Cockers). In October of 1982 we bought our first Cocker Spaniel puppy from a person unknown to us at the time - Jane Benthein (Schatzie Acres Cockers), Manitowoc, WI. Jane and I became best of friends. It was the cutest black female puppy,"Daisy". Later Jane and I bought a black n white puppy bitch, "Katie", "Schatzie's n Bo's Katie Jane". She produced my first champion. 'Ch. Nosowea's n Bo's No Trial", "Toby". Toby's offspring are still in the ring with Joanne Thorp today, "Nosowea's" Cudahy, WI. Then I purchased a silver buff female who became "Ch. Tri-Pod's n Bo's Picture This","Lacey", from Deb Podratz "Tri-Pod Cockers", MN. She, Lacey, produced "Ch. Nightingale's Double Take", "Tiffany" and "Ch. Nightingale's Classic Image", "Jamie". From "Tiffany" we still have the lines 8 generations later being "Nightingale's Golden Isle Breezes" "Breezy" producing "Nightingale's Mercy Me" and "Nightingale's Southern Jezebel". Then and now...

....the rest of my story goes like this!!

Next a black/tan puppy. He became "Ch. Northyork Doctor Who", "T.J." from Kim Wubbels, "Northyork", MN. My next puppy, a black male became "Ch. Hyline's Rompin Rebel", "Johnny". Out of a black girl of mine owned by Linda Romps, Gladstone, MI.

Then I got a red puppy bitch from Jane in, my next champion!  I picked her out at 3 days old, born in July of 1984, "Ch. Schatzie's Robyn Retticus", "Robyn". Then 2 years later I got my brown n tan baby girl from Jane, that I later co owned with Christina Debowski (Moonfyre Cockers), "Schatzie's Dutch Mocha" "Jenna", born in July of 1996, who produced "Schatzie's Sweet Murphy Brown" who produced "Ch. Schatzie's Answer to Spring" "Hannah" and "Schatzie's Winter Snow Storm" "Angie".

Then things were quiet for quite a few years...then in July of 2006 with Jane's passing I got 11 month old "Haley", "Schatzie's Silver Comet" and in August of 2009 "Angie", "Schatzie's Winter's Snow Storm" came to live with us, "Angie" was the last Cocker at Jane's.

In the beginning of 2009 I found a beautiful buff boy out of Kimber Lindemann's lines 'Romeacres' MI., "R.A.'S Nightingale's Golden Isle Venture" 1/2009, "Chadwick". We had him shown in many shows in the FL circuit but could not get anything but many reserves on him. He was a super mover and an all around super loving friendly boy. Very disappointed we were in only reserves...

"Angie" (almost 8 yrs old 12/2004) and "Haley" (7 years old 7/2005) are still here with us. "Angie" bred to Chris' "Namees Rambl-N Man" produced our "Jr International/National Ch. Nightingale's N Moonfyre's Only Option", "Trigger" 11/2009. A gorgeous typey black boy.
We also now have "Amelia" "Moonfyre n Nightingale's Island Girl" 7/2011, out of "Chadwick" n "Gabby" a  Namees girl of Chris'.

I am happy and excited with the 'kids' I have here...they are all a joy, each having a happy personality of their own.

Wow, it HAS been awhile since I have been here....alot has happened but yet alot is still the same. We still have one Solid Black Boy here at the age of 7 months, born Feb 13th, 2012. His name is "Jett". We have had him neutered and microchipped. He is current on vaccinations and has been getting HW preventive as well as Comfortis to prevent Fleas. He is a super loving guy. He loves his tennis balls. He brings them back to us to throw again and again and again. He loves to lay in my arms so I can rub his tummy. He is totatally crate trained and will wait for us to get up in the morning. Did I say he is a super good boy? He would like his very own family to keep hopping...

His Black/Tan sister "Mercedes" "Nightingale's Mercy Me" is living in NY with High Calling Cockers and his Black sister "Jazzy" "Nightingale's Southern Jezebel" is living in MI waiting to be shown.

We did find a super home for "Mikey" keeping "Lexi" company!

"Alison" has gone back to WI and as of this writing "'Charlotte" is still here jumping in Daddy's recliner every chance she gets.

It is time to update on the puppies. They are growing so fast and all developing their own little personalities. This may be one of the nicest litters we have produced - all so nicely put together. It has been very hard chosing who could go to homes who want to do more with them. 2 of the boys went to Atlanta to a young man and his 16 year old daughter. One of the boys is going to a young family next Friday. As of this writing there is still a solid black boy, a black/tan boy and a solid black girl and a small black/tan girl left to the right homes. I need to update the pics on here. I did just that yesterday on most of my ads and also on facebook. If you look on my facebook page, Gail Sheehan, you should find the pics. I also have two adults looking for homes, Charlotte and Mikey, see pics. They are spayed/neutered! Email for prices! Thank you!

Update on the Breezy n Trigger puppies - they will be 7 weeks old on Monday, April 2, 2012 and will be getting their first vaccinations. They will also be getting their second dose of worm meds. They will be ready to go be adopted mid week, in time for EASTER! Pets will need to be spayed/neutered. They are all so gorgeous. It has been hard to decide which to hold back for show potential. When stacked, a few are self stacking. It is so nice to see...Chris of Moonfyre Cockers is taking one of the girls as she shares all the lines with me which produced these great kids! Trigger and Breezy are out of the last two cockers, Angie, 'Schatzie's Winter's Snow Storm" and Haley, Schatzie's Silver Comet, I got from Jane Benthein (Schatzie Cockers) whe she passed away in July of 2006. The lines go way back to Laurent's, Echowood's, Lurola's, Ashleysown Kahlua, Gallant, Darkhaven, EZ's, Gazon...these puppies are black and black/tan!

Update...all 8 beautiful puppies are doing great. They turned 4 weeks old on Monday evening, March 12, 2012. They are all walking and starting to play. They started eating mush this week and are enjoying making a mess. I gave all of them their first baths yesterday and cut all of their toe nails. I must say they were very good. Then we rounded them up and took a nice group picture which I did post on facebook and today I placed the first ad on www.kijiji.com when I realized they will be 7 weeks the Monday before Easter. I hope the Easter Bunny is reading this post, lol - stay tuned for the next update!

Breezy n Trigger are proud parents of 8 gorgeous black and black/tan babies born Feb. 13, 2012

the late evening of Monday Feb. 13th, 2012 Breezy finally decided it was time to start really having these kids. She kept us on closeful watch for the 9 days n nights prior to this. As you see she is a very easy whelper and shows no signs other than tearing up papers and circling very restless until it is actually time for the pups to quietly present themselves. And I do mean quietly presenting themsleves....I learned this quickly with her first litter. You do not leave her at all, so John n I kept vigilant watch for 9 nights we slept on the couch n loveseat not to miss anything....anyway at 10:40 p.m she had her first one, a black boy followed by a black/tan boy then a black girl and a black/tan girl, a black boy, a black/tan girl n a black boy at 4:15 am. I then went to the computer a bit n came back to get them set up nursing and thought gee, this is more than 7 and counted over and over. There were 9. I do not know when the two late comers showed up but we had another black/tan boy and another black girl. So got them all drinking and tried to rest awhile....all looked good. Then on Tuesday evening I started supplementing because a few were being pushed aside....all went well. On Wednesday morning I had one limp little girl. I felt so bad because I felt I missed on doing more....
Well up until now all the rest are doing good. I am still supplementing 3 a little each day. Their eyes have all opened now and we just took 2 week pics. I still am not comfortable leaving them alone more than an hour. One of us is home at all times. Stay tuned....
